The sea lily is found on the Atlantic coast from Brittany to Portugal and the Mediterranean, including Corsica and Crete. Due to its incredible resistance, its seed can survive long periods in the sea while retaining its capacity to germinate. Its name “pancratium” comes from the Greek “pan” meaning “everything” and “kratos” meaning powerful, and refers to the exceptional resistance of its delicate flower to the harsh, arid environment of sand, sun, salt and wind where it grows. The sea lily selected by Clarins Laboratories comes from controlled cultivation.
