The power of plants
Heart seed is a medicinal vine plant which has long featured in traditional pharmacopeia and popular medicine, including Siddha, Ayurvedic and Unani medicine. With the strength and firmness of its vines and its heart-shaped marking, heart seed has inspired Clarins Research. In fact, it turns out that it interacted most strongly with the key target – versican – by increasing its gene expression; versican being a proteoglycan involved in skin firmness and viscoelasticity mechanisms.
Skincare benefits of Organic heart seed extract
In cosmetics, organic heart seed extract has a long-term lift effect and a firming action. Heart seed extract helps protect skin elasticity.
Responsible sourcing
Our extract is obtained from organic heart seed grown on a farm in Val d’Oise, on the edges of the Chantilly forest, in France. Our partner specializes in growing spices and aromatic, medicinal and pharmaceutical plants, adopting a sustainable farming approach while respecting biodiversity. The farm also works to pass on knowledge by educating workers on aromatic and medicinal plants. The plant is hand-picked in September.
